We’re off to get our photo taken and it’s going to be something special.
Because we won’t be sat in front of a fake cloud background and have someone snapping our pic on a fancy digital camera.
Instead, we are going to the studio of Sophie Caligari who has mastered the art of wet plate photography.
Paris Brown’s great grandparents lived through a lot; war, depression, innovation and modernisation.
They saw tv and the internet develop, presidents assassinated, nations recover from war and man walk on the moon, how can you not be inspired by that!
It’s not surprising Paris now lives a modern vintage life.
It was while living in rural Austria that Waltraud Reiner remembers her first hat.
Even though it belonged to traditional dress, it was considered “out there” because of it’s vibrant red colour.
But that wasn’t where she fell in love with hats. That happened years later in Australia.

Right now I am travelling through China with my husband and creative podcast soundboard Scott.
So what better to celebrate going on an adventure than to take you with me!
So this week on the podcast we are going on a walking tour around Shanghai with Patrick Cranley from Shanghai Art Deco.
Dr Colleen Darnell in Egypt with a 1970’s Land rover in front of a house built in 1906!
So every week on the podcast I nerd out a little. I can’t help it. I get to talk to my people! Those that share a passion for vintage and who have incredible collections or have achieved amazing things.
But this weeks episode pushes my nerdy fan girl to the very edge! This week we aren’t just talking to a beautiful 1920’s dame, you get to meet an Egyptologist with an incredible vintage flare!
Ladies and Gentlemen, meet Dr Colleen Darnell!!!

This week we are running away and joining the circus!
What is it about that big top, the acrobats, trapeze artists and clowns that inspire us to dream of a life travelling the world performing.
But what if you made the dream a reality?
Ladies and gentlemen, meet Adele La Belle!
This week we are taking a virtual tour of Australia’s longest running milk bar.
You might expect it to be based in Sydney or Melbourne but that’s not the case. This piece of history can be found in the remote mining town of Broken Hill.
So pull up a chair and get ready to devour a milkshake at Bells Milk Bar.
